The keen eye of officers responding to a burglary alarm has led to the arrest of 4 suspects involved in an array of criminal activity. Charges range from burglary, theft to home invasion.

“We have experienced a rash of criminal activity during the last 4 -6 weeks. The observation of officers responding to an alarm call has led to the clearance of nearly a dozen crimes” stated Crowley Chief of Police KP Gibson.

On Wednesday morning at approximately 2 am, officers responded to a burglary alarm at the business of Econo Mart located on South Eastern Ave. As officer’s responded, they observed a vehicle driving down a side street away from the business. Keeping in mind the time and crime issues, officers stopped the vehicle as other officers continued to check the alarm.

“By making the stop on the vehicle, the officers were able to detain 3 individuals as they continued their investigation. After spending most of the day Wednesday working the investigation, 4 suspects were arrested and charged with numerous criminal activities” stated Chief Gibson.

“This crime spree was hard on our department, especially the fact that 3 of these suspects committed a home invasion of an elderly citizen this past weekend in the eastern part of our city. Crimes against the elderly and children affects us hard” stated Chief Gibson.

Dillan Emerson, 23, Crowley

  • 4 Counts of vehicle Burglary
  • 1 Count of Felony Theft of a Vehicle
  • 1 Count of Felony Criminal Damage to Property
  • 3 Counts of Simple Burglary of a Business
  • 1 Count of Home Invasion
  • 2 Counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a juvenile

Jesus Broussard, 23, Crowley:

  • 1 Count Home Invasion
  • 3 Counts of Simple Burglary of a business
  • 1 Count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile

Bryon Istre, 22, Crowley:

  • 4 Counts of Vehicle Burglary
  • 1 Count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile

Juvenile, 16, Crowley

  • 1 Count Home Invasion
  • 3 Counts of Burglary of a Business
