Crime of the Week is released by Crime Stoppers once a week. This release has to do with a crime which is being highlighted by law enforcement for additional information. This release normally occurs on Tuesdays.

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish needs your help to solve a crime.

Crowley Police are investigating a homicide which occurred on Saturday, April 5th. The shooting occurred in the area of North Ave B and West 7th Street at approximately 6:45 pm.

Police responded to the scene and discovered that an individual has been shot in the head. The victim was transported to a Lafayette Hospital where he later died from his injury.  Police believe that the suspect(s) may have been seen either walking or driving a vehicle in the area and need your help to solve this case.

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish needs your help to solve a crime.

On March 23, 2014, the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a Burglary of a residence located in the 200 block of Finrock Rd. in Crowley.

The unknown suspect(s) stole two handguns. One is described as silver over black Kahr 9mm subcompact pistol and the other is a nickel plated .38 Special Smith and Wesson Revolver.

Rayne Store-N-Lock

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish needs your help to solve a crime.

On March 23, 2014, the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a Burglary of a storage unit that occurred at Rayne Store-N-Lock, located in the 1900 block of East Jeff Davis in Rayne.

The suspect’s vehicle was captured on video surveillance and is described as a white GMC SUV with a sun roof and luggage rack. Several items were stolen including a flat screen TV and remote control trucks. Picture is of the actual vehicle.

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a Komatsu Excavator 1996 PC-45, blue/green in color. It was stolen during the early morning hours of March 11, 2014, off of the service road by Burger King in Crowley. Picture is the actual excavator.

The Crowley Police Department is investigating a vehicle burglary that occurred at Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation, located in the 800 block of the Crowley Rayne Hwy. on 3/2/14 between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) made entry into a silver 2008 Chrysler Pacifica and stole the victim’s backpack and wallet. The stolen items were discovered in a dumpster several blocks away.

The Crowley Police Department is investigating two felony thefts of computers that occurred at Wal-Mart on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at approx. 10:00 a.m. and again on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at approx. 12:30 p.m.

The suspect is described as a black female, heavy build, approx. 5’6” in height, black hair with blonde highlights, wearing scrubs. She was last seen leaving in a silver car.

The Crowley Police Department is investigating the felony theft of 4 tires and rims that occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. on 2/9/14 and 5:00 a.m. on 2/10/14, in the 1900 block of N. Ave. D in Crowley.

The unknown suspect(s) removed all four tires and rims from a white 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and placed the vehicle on blocks.

On February 7, 2014, at approximately 9:30 p.m. a mother left her car running in the 200 block of N. Ave. E in Crowley with her child in the backseat. Upon exiting the building the mother discovered her car stolen. The child was safely dropped off at a business on E. Hwy. 90 in Crowley. The car was recovered in Lafayette two days later; however, we are trying to identify the suspect. He’s described only as a black male wearing a blue jacket and dark pants.

McCain Rd 2013 Honda 4wheeler

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a 2013 Honda Foreman 4-wheeler from the 5100 block of McCain Rd. in Crowley that occurred during the evening of January 24, 2014. The 4-wheeler is red in color with a Boss wireless Bluetooth speaker system and Swamplite tires with CC custom rims. A witness possibly saw it traveling north for ¼ mile and turning right on Ellis Rd.

The Crowley Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at a residence located in the 1500 block of N. Ave. L on December 1, 2013 at approx. 2:50 p.m.

Forced entry was made through the back door of the residence. Once inside, the suspects stole a black Remington shotgun, a Nintendo Wii, and other items. The suspects are described as a white male wearing a white jacket and a black male wearing a dark blue or black jacket.

Jessie L. Robinson, 19, of Crowley, is described as a black male, 5’4” in height, weighing 150 pounds, with short black hair. His last known address is 100 Meadows Ln. apt. 59, in Crowley. Robinson is wanted for Distribution of Crack Cocaine.

Thomas, Darius 08151992

Darius V. Thomas, 21, of Duson, is described as a black male, 6’1” in height, weighing 125 pounds, with short black hair. His last known address is 220 N. Marigny Circle, in Duson. Thomas is wanted for Distribution of Crack Cocaice.

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish needs your help to solve a theft/arson.

Crowley Police and the La. State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the theft and arson of a motor vehicle. The incident occurred on November 25, 2013 at approximately 4:39 am.

A 2008 Buick Lacrosse, brown in color was located in a ditch at the intersection of West 10th Street and North Ave C. The vehicle had been stolen from the 300 block of West 9th Street and was discovered on fire. The investigation shows that the vehicle was intentionally set on fire.

Capitol Burglary Carbide pic

The Crowley Police Department is investigating a burglary which occurred at Capitol Manufacturing, located at 1125 Capitol Rd., on Saturday 10/26/13, or Sunday, 10/27/13.

Two suspects made entry into the business and stole a large quantity of carbide tooling. Suspects are believed to be male subjects but weren’t able to be identified due to masking.

The Crowley Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance to find the person(s) responsible for vandalizing the Crowley Recreation Facility located in the 700 block of Mill St.

Around midnight on November 11, 2013, damage to the restrooms walls, doors, and electrical switches was discovered. Tennis court benches were also destroyed. Damages are estimated to be several thousand dollars.
