Crime of the Week is released by Crime Stoppers once a week. This release has to do with a crime which is being highlighted by law enforcement for additional information. This release normally occurs on Tuesdays.

Ronald Babineaux is described as a black male, 26 years of age, 5’8” in height, weighing 160 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. He’s running from law enforcement and may be in the state of California since he has ties there. His previous local addresses include the Northgate Apartment complex and 1808 Cherry St., in Crowley.

Babineaux is wanted for Attempted Second Degree Murder in connection with the shooting that occurred in the Walmart parking lot on May 28, 2016. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The Crowley Police Department needs your help to locate Sparkle R. Celestine, black female, 20 years of age. She’s described as being 5’4” in height, weighing 120 pounds, with black hair. Her last known address is 224 W. Foch St., in Lafayette.

Celestine is wanted for Felony Theft of Goods. A warrant has been issued for her arrest.

The Crowley Police Department is investigating a burglary which occurred at LaGrange’s Food Mart located at 620 S. Eastern Ave., during the night of May 22, 2016.

A vending machine located in front of the store was burglarized by an unknown suspect. The machine was pried open and money was stolen.

Crowley Police Department is investigating an armed robbery which occurred in the 1500 block of E. Cedar St. on June 1, 2016, at approx. 8:15 p.m.

The suspect approached the victims as they were about to enter their home. They complied with the suspects demands, and then he fled the area on foot. He’s described as a black male, with a tall, slim build, wearing a mask and a black and red hoodie.

The Crowley Police Department is investigating the felony theft of headlights off an 18-wheeler that occurred in the parking lot of a business located in the 2000 block of N. Cherokee Dr. sometime between 7:00 a.m. on May 5th & 5:30 p.m. on May 6, 2016.

Unknown suspect(s) removed both Peterbilt headlights from under the hood of an 18 wheeler that was parked at the business.

The Crowley Police Department is investigating an unauthorized use of an access card which occurred at a local business in the 800 block of W 2nd St., on April 30, 2016, between noon & 1 p.m.

The suspect was captured on video surveillance and is described as a black female, medium build, with short hair or a wig, and wearing a blue dress. She was seen leaving the store on foot.

Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers needs your help to solve a home invasion.

Crowley Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in the 500 block of N. Ave. C on May 1, 2016, at approximately 10:00 p.m. where three of five suspects brandished firearms.

The five black male suspects that forced their way into the home are described as juveniles or young adults that are believed to live within a reasonable radius of this location. This senseless crime was committed against an elderly citizen. We’re encouraging people to get involved and help us solve this crime.

At approx. 3:50 a.m. video surveillance shows an unknown male suspect making entry into the business. He stole an undisclosed amount of cash and sets off the alarm at approx. 4:30 a.m.as he’s exiting the building.

Entry was made into both vehicles after unknown suspects were believed to have shot out the windows with a BB gun. Some of the items reported stolen were a new Pioneer Radio, jumper cables, and cash.

The suspect was captured on video surveillance and is described as a black male, with a tall, slim build, approx. 6’1 in height. He was wearing a dark jacket and a blue batman beanie when he robbed the casino at gunpoint. He then fled on foot.

The Crowley Police Department is investigating a felony theft that occurred at Walmart on December 23, 2015, at approx. 1:00 a.m.

Several suspects, all described as black females, exited the store without paying for over $1,300 of merchandise. They were captured on video surveillance and seen leaving in a small white 4-door car.

Loaded on the utility trailer and also stolen were two camo colored Kawasaki ATV’s, one green Artic Cat ATV (with the seats missing), and a red cement saw.
