Solicitors Invade Crowley

Date: November 26th, 2013

Crowley Police have received an abundance of calls regarding door to door solicitors selling cleaning supplies. The persons doing the solicitation claim to be college students and seem to have the gift of sweet talking people into buying their product.

“I know that these people have the ability to sweet talk people as my home was visited Monday evening and the salesman did his best to talk me into purchasing his product” stated Chief KP Gibson.

What you need to know is that Crowley City Ordinance, Section 11-160, allows for door to door solicitation between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm or sunset. “Crowley Police have researched the company who the soliciting is being done for. Supreme Cleaning Supplies, Inc. is based out of Stone Mountain, Georgia. The Better Business Bureau has this company listed with an “F” rating. The comments made through the Better Business Bureau website claims issues with delivery and product issues” Stated Chief KP Gibson.

“Simply put, if the product is a legitimate product, customers are not happy with the service as the BBB has rated Supreme Cleaning Supplies, Inc. as an “F” rated business. Second, by purchasing these products, your money does not remain in our area as the company is based in Georgia. Finally salesmen remain in cities which they can produce revenue from. To stop the door to door sales simply don’t buy the product and they will move on” stated Chief Gibson.

Crowley Police encourage your calls if the solicitor is working after the allotted time by ordinance or if they cause any type of problem. Call 783-1234 to report these concerns.
